The procedure:
What to expect
To begin your thigh lift, our plastic surgeons will administer general anesthesia to ensure your comfort and safety. From there, we will create an incision based on the location of your excess skin:
- Inner thigh. If you’re addressing your inner thighs, we may place the incision in the groin and extending down and around the back of the thighs or in the groin and down to the knee. If you qualify for a minimal incision inner thigh lift, we will only need to make one small opening in the groin area.
- Outer thigh. To remove excess skin on the outer thigh, you will require an incision that begins at the groin and extends around the hip and across your back.
Through those openings, your surgeon will gently elevate the underlying tissues; remove excess fat and skin; and smooth and re-shape the area. From there, we will close the incisions with care to ensure that the resulting scars are faint, and can be easily hidden with clothing and swimwear.
