- Breast Augmentation
Aesthetic breast surgery can address two concerns:
1. Volume
2. Shape
Enhancing the volume of the breasts can be done with implants or fat grafting. I use implants to increase cup size and fat grafting to selectively enhance cleavage or upper pole volume. Restoring the breasts to a more youthful position on the chest is achieved through a breast lift or mastopexy. Volume enhancement can be combined with surgery to improve the position of the breasts, and this is referred to as an augmentation mastopexy (implants + a lift).
This lovely patient is 6 months out from an augmentation mastopexy. I placed Sientra HSC+ 320 cc moderate plus profile implants under the pectoral muscles. She underwent a simultaneous lift to bring her breasts back into a more youthful position on the chest wall. I also placed Galaflex mesh as an internal bra for soft tissue support and to help hold her implants in position. Internal mesh has really revolutionized these challenging cases! It provides support for the tension being placed on thin skin that has already failed to hold the weight of the native breast tissue up. We are thrilled for her beautiful, full result. You can even see the confidence boost in her posture!
