Dr. Jason Lewis is an oculofacial plastic surgeon and board-certified ophthalmologist. Dr. Lewis graduated from University of California, San Diego with a B.S. in both Animal Physiology & Neuroscience and Psychology. Upon graduation from UCSD, he worked in the Molecular and Integrative Neuroscience Department at The Scripps Research Institute focusing on preclinical addiction research.
Dr. Jason Lewis
Dr. Jason Lewis graduated from University of California, San Diego with a B.S. in both Animal Physiology & Neuroscience and Psychology. Upon graduation from UCSD, he worked in the Molecular and Integrative Neuroscience Department at The Scripps Research Institute focusing on preclinical addiction research.
He then transitioned to the Portland Veterans Affairs Hospital and Oregon Health and Science University where he coordinated and conducted various preclinical and clinical research studies in the fields of addiction, mental health, and Vascular Surgery. He was awarded the Army Health Professions Scholarship to attend medical school and is currently an Active Duty Army Officer. He graduated medical school from Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences with honors. He then completed a General Surgery Internship at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA and then completed Ophthalmology Residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Lewis enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and son. He prefers to spend time outdoors hiking and camping, as well as coaching and playing hockey.
Education & Training
After completion of residency, Dr. Lewis completed an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. He was then assigned to Walter Reed as the Chief of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in addition to acting as the Ophthalmology Liaison for the White House.
Dr. Lewis is currently stationed back at Madigan Army Medical Center where he is the acting Chief of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
